About this service
In October, 2019, The BC Centre for Excellence (BC-CfE), launched it's Hope to Health Research & Innovation Centre (R&I) in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) of Vancouver. The R&I Centre will provide integrated and accessible healthcare to clients in the inner city with complex healthcare needs. Many of these clients have multiple conditions that can include HIV, hepatitis C (HCV) and many times, these clients are co-infected with HIV and HCV in addition to substance use and mental health issues. The R&I Centre will be staffed by an interdisciplinary team (e.g. physicians, nurses, counsellors, peer navigators) to provide wrap-around healthcare to clients, ensuring they receive the full continuum of care under one roof.
By offering these services to the DTES community, the BC-CfE also aims to reduce unnecessary hospital visits for non-urgent cases, decrease overall hospitalization rates and relieve some of the current pressure on the healthcare system.

Hope to Health Research and Innovation Centre is open Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm.
