About this service
Daily, the Centre offers a refuge for women and children in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. We provide basic-needs, as well as counseling, advocacy, social, educational and referral services:
- Breakfast and lunch program
- Crisis counseling and advocacy
- First Aid
- Showers
- Toilets
- Clothing
- Telephone and computer access
- Secure mailing addresses
- Storage of personal documents
- Message board
- Resource Centre
- Social space for women to build community
DEWC also provides dinner for women who attend our evening groups (including Healing Circle, Battered Women Support Services, and Grief & Loss) held most nights of the week from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
