By looking at the potential causes of your illness, genetic counselling can help you adapt to the medical and psychological effects of your disorder. You'll better understand the risks you face, as well as the risks that your children or other family members have of developing mental health problems. Understanding your illness in this way will help you feel better equipped and empowered to participate in treatment and get well.
