Summer Fun Daily Program

We have a wonderful daycare program this summer full of trips to the beach, parks, lakes, and community tours including but not limited to SCCU tour of the bank and vault, Mikes Gelato, Claytons, Salmon Hatchery, and the Iris Griffiths Nature Centre! At Halfmoon Bay Childcare Centre we provide a play-based summer fun program for 3 5 year old children for the entire Sunshine Coast (30 month old children can attend when space is available). A teacher-child ratio of 1 to 8 or less is maintained. Class sizes are limited to 16 in order to provide high-quality care. Our Summer Fun daily program follows a basic routine that offers both structured and unstructured activities throughout the day. The program is kept flexible enough to meet the needs of the individual as well as the group. We offer a wide variety of creative learning experiences both inside and outside classroom settings based on the interests of the group in our centre. Some of the areas of exploration include nature, music, storytelling and writing, movement, construction, science, puzzles and logic, cooking, construction and dramatic play. We are outside exploring and participating in free and organized physical activity. Please make sure that your child has weather appropriate shoes and clothing. In addition to what your child needs to bring daily, please also send a lifejacket, towel, hat, swimsuit, water-friendly shoes, sunscreen and changes of summer clothes.
