Halfmoon Bay Volunteer Fire Department

The Halfmoon Bay Fire Dept. is a volunteer service consisting of approximately 30 members. Our mission is to serve the community of Halfmoon Bay by protecting life, property and the environment. Fire protection, rescue and emergency medical services, Public fire and life safety education, fire inspections, training and administration are provided. The Fire Department operates under the direction of the Fire Chief who is responsible to the Sunshine Coast Regional District. The Halfmoon Bay Fire Department responded to emergency calls, ranging from structure fires to grass fires, from rescues and auto extrication to backup for the emergency health services. The Fire Chief or Duty Officer also responds to complaints, ranging from burning complaints to reports of hazardous materials. Emergency services are provided by volunteer firefighters. Volunteer firefighters are directly responsible for fire and rescue operations, including incident response and the operation of all apparatus and equipment. All firefighters, participate in the Justice Institute NFPA Firefighter level II program and First Responder Level III. Firefighters respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
