About this service
The goal of key workers is to support parents and caregivers and help broaden their awareness and build upon their strengths to care for children and youth living with FASD/CDBC and to help develop a support network for children and youth living with FASD/CDBC.
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is a term used to provide a diagnosis to individuals with a wide range of abilities and challenges who have had prenatal exposure to alcohol.
Complex Developmental Behaviour Conditions describes an individual who has an array of complex needs with two or more areas being significantly affected. These areas are social emotional functioning, communication, physical functioning, independence and intellectual or academic functioning.
Key workers provide one to one support, groups, support circles, consultation and work to help build a support network and develop community capacity building.
