About this service
The South Vancouver Island ASCD Program was created with Aboriginal cultural values, beliefs, and traditions in mind. ASCD provides culturally safe services for children to support their participation in child care settings such as preschool, daycare, before and after school care, and community programs.
The ASCD Program provides services for children who need support in the following areas: physical, communication, cognitive, social/emotional and behavioural development.
- Visiting at home and in your childs child care setting
- Planning activities to support your childs growth and development
- Completing developmental screenings and assessments at your request
- Supporting you to access community resources and health services
- Providing funding for extra staffing support in child care settings if required
- Offering education and support for families and child care providers
Who can use it?
Children from birth to 12 years of age, who have Aboriginal Ancestry on South Vancouver Island.
