About this service
Revelstokes Harm Reduction and Opioid Addiction Treatment (OAT) in an Interior Health based clinic at Queen Victoria Hospital (QVH) to provide addictions services. This clinic is a branch of the Salmon Arm Addictions clinic that has been very successful with its novel approach through a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic treatment to addiction. They primarily focus on the treatment of opiate addiction through opiate replacement therapy, the medical management of associated mental health issues and psychosocial support. Patients are seen by a physician and a registered psychiatric nurse or mental health counsellor on a regular basis. To ensure regular access to services, they have implemented telehealth video conferencing so that patients can be seen weekly at QVH even if the physician is at another location. Additional services this clinic will provide is the review of opiate management for patients on long term opiates and management of poly-substance abuse.
