About this service
The Foster Parent Support and Training Program (FPSP) provides support and education to foster parents in the northern region of British Columbia for the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). The area extends north from Quesnel and in and around the Prince George region.
The FPSP is trained to support Foster Parents in a variety of situations and offers additional telephone assistance to address any questions or concerns that may arise.
What is a Foster Parent?
A Foster Parent is an approved adult who cares for children and youth on behalf of the Ministry of Children and Family Development. They provide family-based care when the child or youth is unable to live at home for varying lengths of time. In British Columbia foster families follow the Family Care Home Model with the aim to nurture, heal, and develop the foster childs potential in a safe environment.

A Foster Parent is: 19 years old, May be single, married, widowed, divorced, or living common law
