Strive Living Adult Services One-to-One Supports

The Supported Independent Living Program (SIL) is an individualized program that supports participants to achieve their identified personal goals with one-to-one assistance. SIL supports adults with various abilities both in their homes and local community. SIL workers are able to follow rehabilitation intensive programs, to ensure the individual is working towards maximum independence. SIL is offered to individuals throughout Greater Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast. Some of the tailored supports SIL provides fall under these broad categories: Skill Development Interpersonal skills training Meal planning/grocery shopping Household organization Cooking and housekeeping duties Personal finances/budgeting Public transportation training Community Integration: social, recreation and leisure programs Outings Sports Community access Seasonal excursions Outreach Leisure planning and access Link to community resources and supports Advocacy Secure and maintaining housing Navigate government services such as income assistance, mental health system, etc. Connect to addictions support Customized Employment Program Vocational and pre-vocational support Supported vocational program Supported self-employment program SIL services are offered seven days a week and is closed during statutory holidays. A referral from Fraser Health Authority, CLBC, MCFD, Vancouver Coastal Health or any third party funding is required to receive SIL one-to-one services. SIL services are also available for private purchase.
