Powell River Miklat Recovery House Society

MIKLAT means REFUGE. Miklat Recovery Society is a place of refuge from the storms of addiction. We are a non-profit registered charity providing a cost effective residential program designed to offer hope, inspiration and practical tools to MEN with the desire to stop using drugs and alcohol. These tools include but are not limited to the 12 step program, SMART recovery, peer counselling, life skills, anger management and professional drug and alcohol counselling. Many of the directors and members of the society have worked in the field of addictions counselling and treatment or have themselves overcome addiction. Our mission at Miklat is to provide a safe residential environment for clients to grow and eventually become active members of society. We do this by growing together and supporting our clients through their journey in and out of residential treatment. Our goal is to have a safe place for WOMEN based on a similar model as the mens program, and we project this to take place in 2021.
