About this service
The seniors wellness society co-delivers the better at home program in partnership with onesky community resources society. Better at home is a program that gives seniors a helping hand with simple day-to-day tasks to assist them to remain living independently at home. Services may include friendly visiting, grocery shopping, transportation to appointments or activities, basic yard work, light housekeeping, simple home repair, and snow shoveling. Fee rates for service are based on a sliding scale according to annual income and ability to pay. Some services are based on hourly rates and others are a flat fee. There is no fee for friendly visits. Preregistration is required. Registration includes a home visit by the program coordinator to assess needs and sign registration forms.
