About this service
The penrap program has been integrated to provide an intensive support and supervision program (issp) and a non-residential attendance program (nrap). It provides an alternative-to-custody sentencing option for youth in conflict with the law, and/or a young offender community intervention service; assisting young offenders to address factors leading to their illegal behaviours and improve their functioning in the community. The issp program component can also support the re-integration of young offenders in the community following a period in custody. Support and monitoring are provided to youth in complying with the conditions of their probation order, and the service assists the youth probation team in providing supervision to high-risk young offenders in the community. The focus is to help the youth increase their: natural and community resources functioning in the community emotional stability parenting capacity (if applicable) interpersonal and life skills harm reduction
