About this service
An urban farms partnership with the City of Nanaimo to provide local food, agriculture knowledge and educational and employment opportunities to people in our community. The Park Avenue Farm, located at 933 Park Ave, the hunting grounds of the Snuneymuxw People is one of the last intact parcels of BCs first planned agricultural community. Nanaimo Foodshare is excited to use this green space as an urban farm as well as an outdoor community classroom space for many of its programs. We are now offering group tours of the Park Avenue Farm! Experience growing food on an urban farm. Get hands-on practice with food growing skills and fun ecological activities. Weekly, monthly, seasonal, and individual visits highlight the various cycles of growing.
