About this service
Hospice volunteers are compassionate individuals from the community who are committed to the Hospice philosophy, and offer comfort and emotional support to the dying person, family and friends, and will respect their beliefs, values and privacy.
One-to-One Support
- All Hospice volunteers are required to take an extensive training program, based on the BC Hospice Palliative Care Associations Standards.
- A volunteers primary role is to offer emotional support, companionship and an open, non-judgmental listening ear as familys face this often difficult time.
Relaxation Circle
- The program induces a deep state of relaxation, to help cope with emotions, anxiety and pain; relaxing the body and mind to enhance quality of life.

Vigil Support
- Volunteers are available for around the clock support and companionship for someone in their last few days of life.
