Health Services

The Wellness Centre encourages developing a healthy lifestyle and recognizes there are times, especially during university life, when maintaining balance in life is difficult. The physicians and nurse are available to discuss key wellness issues such as nutrition, exercise, stress management, depression, sexual health, etc. There are also pamphlets and reading material in the waiting room that you may find helpful. The usual services provided by your family doctor, such as diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses Minor injuries including stitches and uncomplicated fractures Special interests: mental health, sports related injuries, allergy shots Womens Health Minor treatments such as wound care Lab services such as blood tests, urine tests, STI, and pregnancy testing. (Please note while blood work is collected by nursing services, usually a physician must complete the necessary paperwork as part of an assessment visit first) Immunizations We are happy to chat about any wellness issues or concerns you may have. Talking to the nurse is a great place to start if you are unsure of what is going on and whether to seek medical or counselling support.

Health Services are available to all TWU students, staff and faculty. For students our doctors can be your family doctor while you are in school. For faculty and staff, our doctors can provide urgent or intermittent care, but are not to replace your family physician.

Health Services is open Monday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4:30 p.m, Tuesday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4:30 p.m, Wednesday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4:30 p.m, Thursday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4:30 p.m, Friday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4:30 p.m.
