Clinical Counselling Services

For individuals of all ages who have experienced trauma. This is a fee-for-service program. Our Clients We work with individuals, of any age, who have experienced trauma. This includes, but is not limited to: Abuse Assault / Violence Motor Vehicle Accidents Significant Bullying Neglect First Responder Experiences Natural Disasters / War Modalities Our counsellors use various modalities that have been found to be essential in working with individuals healing from trauma. This includes, but are not limited to, play, expressive and cognitive behavioural therapies. Cost This is a fee-for-service program. Sessions are $120 per hour (GST included). If you have Extended Health Benefits through your employer, your costs may be covered. Please contact your Extended Health Benefits provider or your employer to find out if you qualify. BC Crime Victim Assistance Program (BC CVAP) provides assistance to victims, immediate family members and some witnesses in coping with the effects of violent crime. This includes providing financial benefits to assist in recovery. Please contact the Clinical Counselling Services at Encompass Support Services Society to see if you might be eligible to apply for BC CVAP. Your counsellor can also support you in completing the application form. The Trauma Therapy Program is also able to provide services to those with funding approved through the First Nations Health Authority. For individuals and families who are experiencing financial difficulty, there may be funding or payment options available. Please contact the Clinical Counselling Services to discuss these options. Referrals Individuals and families can self-refer to the Trauma Therapy Program by contacting the Clinical Counselling Services at (604) 534-2171 extension 104. Referrals can also be made through the Ministry of Child and Family Development, Victim Services, police, school counsellors, family doctors and other professionals. What to Expect Upon referral, one of our Counselling Services staff will contact you to ask for some basic information about yourself and to go over any questions you may have about our program. Our staff member will ensure that this program is the right fit for your needs; and, if needed, we can refer you to appropriate services/programs. You will be put on a waitlist while we match you with an available counsellor. Before your first appointment, please read and familiarize yourself with the Participant Handbook, Confidentiality Agreement and Consent to Services Form. Your counsellor will go over these documents and you will sign them during your initial appointment. Payment for counselling services will be processed after each appointment. We accept cash, Interac Flash or major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard or American Express). Your counsellor will provide you with a receipt. If you have been approved for funding (BC CVAP or other source), we will bill the funder directly.
