S.H.A.R.E. - Details of Retail Introductory Program (DRIP)

S.H.A.R.E.'s retail skills program (D.R.I.P.), is designed to assist unemployed youth with diverse abilities and other challenges to employment learn basic retail skills, workplace safety, tips for successful employment, customer service and life skills that can be applied to other work environments. The first phase of the program consists of 16 weekly modules offering structured hands-on experiences with targeted learning goals. Recognizing that each student faces unique challenges, the program can be quickly adapted to suit individual needs. Phase 2 of the program offers 12 weeks of unpaid work experience within the thrift store, mentored by a staff member up to 3 days per week. Candidates who have successfully completed Phases 1 & 2 will be considered for summer employment. All candidates will be provided with a reference. While the program's focus is unemployed youth, it is open to anyone who experiences challenges to employment or who wishes to learn more about retail sales.
