About this organization

Burnaby Hospice Society is dedicated to providing compassionate care to individuals and families during the end-of-life journey. We achieve this through the following programs and services. Hospice Palliative Care: Our staff and trained volunteers provide and facilitate access to compassionate end-of-life care, offering support options, honouring choices and supporting families and friends. Bereavement Support: Our trained and dedicated volnteers bring understanding, listening skills and support to help people find comfort during grief. We provide individual/family Counselling, facilitate a grief support group, offer one-on-one bereavement support, and host a weekly walking support group. Community Education: Our extensive lending library of books, pamphlets and videos cover a wide selection of subjects associated with death, dying, illness and bereavement. We also host public education events through the year.
