Across the Waters Outreach

Across the Waters Outreach is an alternate school that provides junior high and senior high school courses in a faith-filled, safe and caring environment. Students are welcomed to an informal, friendly and flexible learning environment. With the assistance of certified teachers, students design an individual program from Alberta Education approved courses that will meet their specific short and long term goals. Our Outreach provides students the opportunity to work at their own pace in an environment that considers their unique needs. Outreach serves students from Grade 7 - Grade 12 and programming can also include Work Experience, Registered Apprenticeship Programs and some CTS option components.

Before a student can be enrolled in Across the Waters Outreach programs, the following must be provided: A completed and signed registration form All students and their legal guardian must meet with a member of the staff for an in-take and planning meeting. This will allow us to ensure that the student and family understand the programming options, rules and policies of the Outreach. For students who live outside of the Whitecourt area, these meetings can be via telephone or technology such as Google Hangouts Certificates: Birth Certificates and proof of residency All schools in Alberta are required by law to have a copy of a birth certificate for each student in our school. Students filed are reviewed by appropriate members of staff periodically to ensure all required information is present. Baptismal, First Communion and Confirmation certificates Students may provide these documents if they are available. Fees: There will be a $20.00 deposit required at the time of registration. This deposit is refundable upon course completion and the return of all materials to the Outreach A $10.00 non-refundable technology use fee is charged for each student to assist in enhancing the technology available to our students enrolled at Across the Waters Outreach. Families who are unable to cover the costs of school fees are asked to speak with the Principal in order to make a suitable arrangement.
