Our Story Hope has been established here in Strathmore for 25 years. The vision for Hope was to embody, live out, and invite the community of Strathmore, and its surrounding area, to experience real and transforming hope which is found in Jesus Christ. This is still our vision. The dreams of Hopes founding members continue to be lived out as we share hope with our friends, family, neighbors, classmates, and co-workers and we continue to dream about what that might look like today! OUR BELIEFS: The Covenant Churchs core beliefs are summed up in six affirmations: We affirm the centrality of the word of God. We affirm the necessity of the new birth. We affirm a conscience dependence on the Holy Spirit. We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the church. We affirm the church as a fellowship of believers. We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ. Evangelical Covenant Church OUR DENOMINATION: HOPE is a member of The Evangelical Covenant Church is a rapidly growing multi-ethnic denomination in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents of the world. Founded in 1885 by Swedish immigrants, the ECC values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of Gods grace and ever-deepening spiritual life that comes through a faith with Jesus Christ, the importance of extending Gods love and compassion to a hurting world, and the strength that comes from unity within diversity.
