Services from this organization

About this organization

We work alongside the Rimbey RCMP to provide information, support, referrals and court support to residents of the area who have been affected by crime. We have trained staff and advocates who provide support and practical assistance to victims of crime.

The majority of our referrals come from the Rimbey RCMP, but we do take referrals from other community agencies and from victims directly.

Victim Services aims to:

  • Lessen the impact of a crime on victims
  • Focus on the prevention of further victimization and provide encouragement to victims.
  • Help increase "availability time" of the RCMP members so they can attend to other emergencies.
  • Be of service to investigators by providing assistance to the victim during the investigation.
  • Help promote public awareness of the program by participating in the community with various groups, individuals and agencies.
  • Host educational events to increase awareness and prevention.
