About this service
We provide language assessment services for newcomers to Red Deer and Central Alberta. The Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessments (CLBA) use a nationally standardized scale to describe adult learners English proficiency in the four skill areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
The Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment is used to determine eligibility for the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program, as well as a number of other programs designed to help adult immigrants achieve their language and employment goals. CLB assessments are free of charge for qualifying newcomers to Canada, and can be provided for others on a fee-for-service basis.
