About this service
Gang Exit and Community Outreach Services works to support individuals who express desire to end their gang affiliation. Participants may be incarcerated or living within the community; lack the supports and resources to successfully transition out of gang life independently; and have presenting issues such as legal troubles, addictions, interpersonal conflict, lack of family and community supports, and poverty. Participants are supported in setting goals, connecting to services, and increasing independence from their previous affiliations.
Services and supports include:
- Connection to employment and/or education
- Fulfillment of basic needs
- Creation and maintenance of pro-social connections
- Connection to cultural and spiritual communities
- Risk identification, assessment, and minimization
- Development of pro-social skills and behaviors
- Identification of and connection to a broad range of support services
