Sex Trade Offender Program (STOP)

The Sex Trade Offender Program (STOP) is a supportive educational initiative designed for individuals involved in the sex industry, where they participate in place of a court-imposed fine. The program admission fee, required for participation, is utilized to offer aid to victims of sexual violence and exploitation in the Northwest Region. The completion of this program results in the withdrawal of the participant's charge and avoids a criminal record. Factors such as a record of violence or child exploitation,among others, may inhibit an individual's eligibility for the program. Furthermore, online transaction processing fees are applied while enrolling for the program; however, cash payments can be negotiated with the Program Coordinator. The program also supports crime prevention through its Report-a-John initiative, which advocates for community safety by tracking the clients of sex trade workers.
