About this service
Settlement Services at Grande Prairie Centre for Newcomers provides a broad range of offerings to help newcomers integrate into their new community in Canada. Available in English and French, the services include informational and orientational sessions about Canada, Alberta, and Grande Prairie; housing assistance; help in registering children for school; guidance on the healthcare system; and aid with governmental applications. The center also conducts needs assessments for newcomers, offers referrals to other community services, and facilitates interaction between newcomers and local residents. Additional support services involve crisis counseling related to acculturation, interpretation, translation in over 15 languages, and informative workshops on relevant topics. The center also offers Commissioner of Oath Services.
