About this service
Court Accompaniment is a service provided by Grande Prairie & District Victim Services as part of their Court Support for Victims of Crime program. This service involves providing a support person to accompany victims of crime or witnesses to court. The support person remains with the individual while they wait to testify and also sits in the courtroom during their testimony. This service aims to offer emotional support, comfort, and reassurance to victims during their court appearance. Victim Services also keeps track of court appearances and updates the victim about the proceedings and when a trial will take place.
