About this service
The George Spady Centre Shelter and Detox Programs provide a supervised environment for men and women who are under the influence of alcohol or other drugs and require help to stabilize their condition. We are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Overnight shelter is available for 60 clients and detoxification for 27 more. The Supervised Consumption Service (SCS) is open nightly from 20:00 to 08:00. The emphasis at Shelter, Detox, and the SCS is on the stabilization and restoration of clients health in an accepting and nonjudgmental atmosphere. We believe that people are entitled to be treated with respect and dignity whatever their condition when arriving at the Centre.
