About this service
A 105 suite Enhanced Designated Living site designed specifically for clients with early onset dementia, mental illness or brain injury.
A unique facility, Balwin Villa contains 104 barrier free units designated as safe living or secure suites with staff funded by Alberta Health Services as well, there is 1 Private Pay unit.
Balwin Villa is focused on the challenges of early onset dementia. These are dementia victims who are still able to function relatively independently with provision for differing supports. Up till now a generally neglected group, they receive focused services that meet their particular needs as their illness progresses. Included are specialized supports for persons with brain injury or mental illness that are unrelated to the dementia group.
