About this service
This program provides alternatives to traditional group living provided in our Shared Living (Residential Support) Program. The focus of this program is to provide an alternative for Individuals to live in an environment which supports their development and growth within a homelike atmosphere. The Supports are provided by Agency sub-contractors. For the most part, Individuals are provided with a place to live usually within a supportive family home, and provided the necessary supports to thrive within the setting and the community. The Supportive Roommate aspect, provides the necessary developmental supports and growth in a less family like setting and on more of a friend or roommate basis. All the supports are intended to assist the Individual in learning skills to allow them as much independence and community inclusion as possible, while providing for their safety and security in their daily living. There are over 70 Individuals accessing services through this program.
