About this organization

As a parish, St Matthias' exists to form that Christ-shaped community, obeying Christ's great commandment to love God and our neighbours alike. (Matthew 22:34-40). Our motto of "Following Jesus, Serving People" means that, by God's grace, our shared lives are shaped and formed by sacred worship, generous giving, daily prayer, fellowship, community outreach. We may each be in different places in our individual faith journeys, but Christianity isn't about personal piety. It is about knowing we need each other, and about how the human family thrives together when we reflect God's grace to each other. We need God, and so with the self-giving example of Christ at the heart of our fellowship, we encourage each other, growing stronger together in faith than we ever could alone.
