About this service
The Owen Hart Home Owners Program is a free program that offers people living in low-income situations the opportunity to save for a down payment for a home and helps develop increased money management skills with emphasis on home ownership issues.
Participants will attend regular workshops, peer group meetings and one-on-one consultation sessions to better understand their needs as a homeowner, and how to select their perfect home. During this time, participants will deposit between $100 $250 per month for one year, saving $3,000. After one year, savings are matched at a 2:1 ratio ($2 for every $1 saved), which for a combined total of $9,000, which they can put towards the down payment of a new home.
You are eligible for the program if you live on a low income and have successfully completed a Matched Savings Program for Adults or Youths in Calgary, either at Momentum or one of our Aspire Community Partner Agencies.
