About this service
The Kinnections Program (Kinship) utilizes a trauma informed approach by supporting healthy child development and well-being. Caregivers are educated about the importance of providing nurturing and empathetic responses to children in their care and helping them understand how the impact of trauma, grief and loss impacts behaviour and healthy childhood development
In order to support and increase caregiver capacity, the Kinnections Program utilizes a number of assessment tools and strategies to create individualized plans:
1. Ages and Stages Questionnaires
2. Developmental Support Planning
3. The Family Assessment Forum
*Kinship Caregivers are referred through Childrens Services. Caregivers have an identified significant relationship with the child(ren) in care and may be biologically related to the child(ren)
