About this service
This is a nationwide project (in Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver) that offers a 10-week training program for Internationally Trained Professionals (ITPs) who have worked or trained as a programmer, database analyst/administrator or network technician. This program is about communication in a workplace context and about those thinking and problem-solving skills that contribute to effective writing and speaking. It is presented in the context of working with others in a technical environment.
ALES@WORK program helps ITPs develop skills to make them more effective in their workplaces through a series of projects and learning activities designed to reflect the conditions in the modern information technology workplace, such as Agile processes.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Programmer, Database Analyst or Computer Network Technician
- Permanent Resident, Canadian Citizen or Convention Refugee
- Unemployed, Underemployed or Employed
- Canadian Language Benchmark 7 or above
