About this service
The HEROES program works to move youth from at-risk to at-potential by focusing on the building of their strengths, resilience, and decision-making skills. This provides a greater sense of identity for the students, with the ability to navigate lifes challenges with greater confidence.
Research shows that building positive capacity in youth requires four dimensions of strength-based learning; feeling, thought, behaviour and conviction. HEROES implements these dimensions by making students feel valued and safe; inspiring them to foster their own motivational thoughts and to think optimistically about their future. It provides them with experiential learning exercises to practice new skills and insights into positive peer-peer interaction and behaviour. The result is purposeful youth who are confident, believe in themselves and who actualize the positive behaviour learned throughout HEROES to make a difference in their lives, their community, and the world around them.
