About this service
When children require government care, placement with kin offers them an unparalleled sense of belonging and family connectedness. Kinnections provides services to kinship caregivers referred by Children's Services and their families, so children can experience safety, wellness and permanence with relatives and significant others with whom they share a special bond.
Kinship care allows children in government care to remain with kin who are committed to them and allows them to remain connected to their family, culture and community. It serves as a buffer against the loss, disruption and stigma associated with coming into care. Kinship caregivers are faced with numerous challenges and life changes associated with their kinship roles. They benefit from support to address these changes, and to fulfill the requirements of government kinship care.
Kinnections is a partnership program between Hull Services, McMan Youth and the Family and Community Services Association.
