About this service
Deaf & Hear Alberta is dedicated to addressing the accessibility, social inclusion and communication needs of the Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing populations of Alberta. We remove barriers and build bridges to communicate through several distinct streams: American Sign Language Interpreting (ASL), ASL training, counselling, student literacy training; one-on-one client support/referrals and workplace sensitivity training, hearing loss awareness, management and support, as well as specialized courses in speech reading and tinnitus support. Accessibility Services offers a full range of services related to assistive listening technology and communication solutions including providing onsite (workplace & facility) assessments, identifying technology options and communication strategies, training on the use of equipment, and providing ongoing support.
