About this service
The purpose of the immigrant support group is to help Chinese immigrant families to get familiarized with Canadian life and to integrate into Canadian mainstream society. We provide different information sessions for immigrant families which covered daily living, housing, Canadian cultureeducation system, health system, working in Canada etc. In addition, to help Chinese immigrant family gain knowledge about Canada, we also organize social activities in summer, such as Central Library Tours, University of Calgary Tour, Janes walk and so on.
All of these activities are welcomed by new immigrants. There is always a lot of interest. The group helps workers to hold social networks among themselves as well as with the Canadian society. The New Immigrant Circle activities received many compliments from the participants saying that these activities have provided opportunities for them to learn about Canadian life and recreation.
