About this service
Through trauma-informed, 1-on-1 sessions, our Restorative Solutions for Conflict (RSC) facilitator helps:
- Identify what triggered the conflict
- Understand who it impacted and how
- Work towards repairing the harm caused and restoring relationships
- Establish a plan to prevent future conflicts
The facilitator works with the youths natural supports and acts as a mediator, whether in the home, with peers or others in the community, to open a dialogue so that the youth can take responsibility for their actions and work towards positive future goals. The facilitator also offers mentorship, advocacy and problem-solving.
Restorative solutions are based on restorative justice an approach to justice that helps meet the needs of people faced with crime and conflict in an inclusive and meaningful way. It provides opportunities, for those who have been harmed and those who have caused harm, to be active participants in their journey for justice, accountability, and reparation.
Who can use it?
Youth 12-24 years of age experiencing conflict (at home, school, family or employer)
