About this organization
Bernies Buddies is a registered charity that helps Calgarys kids live again after loss. We provide free kids grief workshops professionally facilitated in a peer support environment with activities that include a therapy dog visit, physical movement, mindfulness, and creative grief conversation.
All loss is experienced at 100% - especially when you're a kid. Having a safe space and participating in activities in a community of kids also going through a loss can help kids on their recovery journey. The goal of Bernie's Buddies is to help grieving kids realize they not only can survive a loss - they can THRIVE again and contribute to society in many valuable ways, no matter how difficult dealing with their loss is at the moment.
