About this service
Curious about meditation? In this six-week course participants will be introduced to the practice of sitting meditation. Through gentle instruction we will practise how to work with the breath as a point of awareness and learn how to intentionally choose where we want to place our attention. We will also discuss how to use this skill of focus and purposeful concentration with all aspects of our life such as relationships, exercise, work and play. This course is suitable for absolute beginners and for people with some experience with meditation.
Mindfulness. We have all heard the word, but what actually is it? Mindfulness is an invitation to slow down, step out of the clutter and really focus on what you are doing, thinking and feeling in the moment. Research shows that mindfulness practice can help improve the quality of life and well-being, reduce stress and anxiety and improve physical health. For more information call (867) 668-6429 or email admin@yukon.cmha.ca.
