About this organization
Habitat for Humanity is a "Hand up, not a Handout," we believe people should have the opportunity of owning safe, affordable homes. This helps build a stronger and better community, one home at a time.
We believe everybody has a right to safe, affordable housing and is a core goal of Habitat for Humanity. Studies show that Habitat families have:
Improved health, are involved in more physical activities, smoking less
More actively involved in their communities and neighbourhoods, and more active in voting
Parents were able to work fewer jobs, with higher income
Children were much more likely to graduate from post-secondary education programs
