About this service
Respite Care service is offered to care-givers, usually for a maximum of sixty days (two months). The temporary beds are located throughout Sun Country Health Region, at long-term care and integrated health centres. The cost is at the minimum long-term rate of $32.94 per day.
Temporary multi-purpose beds are utilized for Convalescent and Palliative Care clients as well, in the provision of continuum service delivery.
- CAREGIVER RELIEF/RESPITE - Relief programs give caregivers some time off to look after themselves.
- RESPITE CARE - is a service provided to give relief to the family or other primary caregivers of a dependent person living at home.
- ADULT DAY PROGRAMS - provide organized health and social services in health care facilities to people who live in their own home but can travel to a nearby facility to participate in the programs.
