SIAs vision is to build an equitable community that accepts and celebrates all cultures. Our mission is to promote intercultural understanding and the retention of cultural identity and language to fully include Newcomers and Indigenous people in Canadian society. This program provides presentations and workshops with the intention of achieving the following goals: To build, create and maintain meaningful and impactful relationships between Newcomers and Indigenous peoples To promote intercultural understanding and retention of cultural identity and language to include Newcomers and Indigenous peoples fully To motivate racialized Newcomers to gain an understanding of reconciliation including the treaty obligations of the Canadian state for offering solidarity to the struggles of the Indigenous peoples in Canada To eliminate discrimination and racism by working towards the promotion of intercultural relations, understanding and acceptance.
