SIA - Anti-Oppressive Education

Overview The Anti-Oppressive Education framework is a series of diversity, equity, and inclusion presentations that educate our clients: On the varied identities and differences that exist here in our community, inclusive of the workplace. To explore what inclusion looks and feels like from an individual and collective perspective. Clients learn how to use the power of this to create a more productive society. Identify inequities that exist and maintain the social division into upper, middle, and lower class (between races and within races) through our social systems. Find creative and workable solutions to eliminate inequities to create an inclusive and productive society. The Anti-Oppressive Education consists of three modules: Awareness Module: Highlights and brings understanding to the foundational concepts related to the equity and oppression conversation. Competency Module: Provides clients with the skills, abilities, knowledge, and behaviour to demonstrate competency in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Accountability Module: Assists clients in creating frameworks and policies of accountability at the individual and organizational levels to create diverse and inclusive spaces.
