CENTRAL URBAN METIS FEDERATION INC. WHO WE ARE A non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing long term and emergency housing for single Aboriginal mothers and their children in a safe secure environment. INFINITY HOUSE 20022010 the Infinity House was opened as a family violence and homelessness shelter for aboriginal women. 2010 - the Central Urban Metis Federation Inc. decided to restructure the Infinity House as a supportive living home for high risk Mothers. Our supportive living homes have selfcontained suites and independent living for single Aboriginal women with children who are experiencing social and economic challenges. Infinity House consists of four emergency suites, ten long-term suites and one resource room/ counseling office. Support programs and services are offered to the residents/clients of Infinity House to assist the women in healthy lifestyle choices and achieving self-sufficiency. Initially, the continuum of housing supports was designed to assist residents/ clients of Infinity House to gain independence and experience a better quality of life. Goals Referrals (i.e. Social Services, housing, employment training, etc.). Individual counseling. Career development (i.e. resume writing, interview prep, job and interview training search). Resource center. Assist with basic needs (i.e. food shelter, clothing, etc.). Overview To provide supportive housing and outreach services for aboriginal families and individuals living in a homeless situation, where they an live comfortably and work to develop a safe enriched environment for themselves and their children. Community outreach open to all. Safe and secure environment. Criteria for long term housing Must be a single aboriginal mother. Must be at least 18 years of age. Should not have more than 3 children. Children cannot be over the age of 16. Must be committed to making positive life changes in her life and her childrens.
