St. Davids Trinity United Church Welcomes You If I take the wings of the morning and settle at the farthest limit of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me Psalm 139: 9-10 Sunday services begin at 10:30 am every Sunday of the year. Special services include the Longest Night service in December and Christmas Eve as well as Good Friday and Easter Sunday services every Easter season. A Church for All Seasons For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 St. Davids Trinity United Church is a church for all seasons. The congregation begins the season of Lent with a community Pancake Supper and later celebrates the wonder of Easter with a Good Friday service and an Easter Sunday service. After the darkness of the crucifixion, daffodils bloom on a wooden cross as symbols of the resurrection. As Spring arrives, on the first Saturday of May each year, the church family offers garage sale visitors to the community a pancake breakfast. Coffee-house style services run throughout July and August, with the coffee pot on throughout the services held in the lower hall. As gardens ripen and fall approaches, the church prepares for the annual Fall Turkey Supper. Nothing compares to sharing a harvest meal with friends and family. As winter approaches, one of the congregation members began a Service of Remembrance at the Montgomery cairn on November 11 that now continues annually. After the outdoor Remembrance service each year, folks congregate in the lower hall of the church for hot chocolate and homemade cookies. An annual childrens Christmas service adds sparkle and smiles during the Christmas season. The church hosts mid-week groups for people to gather and visit while they play cards, paint, do crafts and relax. Groups from the community meet many evenings including Girl Guides and yoga classes. Special speakers are hosted occasionally, sometimes in partnership with the Montgomery Place Community Association or the City of Saskatoon. The church, in the heart of the Montgomery Place neighbourhood, is a meeting place for the neighbourhood.
