Who We Are: The Saskatoon Evangelical Free Church is part of a larger network of over 140 Evangelical Free Churches across Canada. Our local fellowship seeks to serve Jesus Christ and our community here in Saskatoon. We meet together regularly for worship and teaching, prayer and fellowship, so that we might encourage each other to share our faith in Christ with the world and live lives of hope and obedience to Him. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and is relevant in meeting the real needs of people in every generation. We believe that you will find faith and friendship at this church. We have a great mix of young families, singles, middlers, youth and seniors. We plan our Sunday morning worship with these diverse groups in mind. We seek to maintain a healthy blend of contemporary and traditional worship to encourage all ages in their walk with Christ. We trust that you will experience the love of Jesus when you visit us. For a church where they could grow, fellowship & serve Christ together. One person in the group heard that the Evangelical Free Church of America was branching out into Canada. The were looking for a congregation to begin in Saskatoon so our fellowship approached the denomination about partnering with the EFCC and that summer the Saskatoon Evangelical Free Church was born. The Evangelical Free Church Of America was very helpful in the purchase of our property and the subsidy of a budget until our church could establish itself financially. SEFC began with several families of which 25 people became charter members. Initial services were held in the Father Vachon School on Centennial Drive under the leadership of Rev. George Litke. During the next three years, the small fellowship began to grow. It was at this time that God provided a strategic piece of land on the corner of Circle Drive and Laurier and in June of 1982 the Saskatoon Evangelical Free Church moved into Phase I. As we continued to grow throughout the 1990s we recognized the need for more space so under the leadership of Rev. Bill Taylor we began a Capital Campaign for Phase 2. In May of 2000, we completed the second phase of our facility, adding a new sanctuary as well as additional office space and Christian Education classrooms.
