About this service
Workplace Help and Mentoring (WHAM) is an employment program designed to connect young adults ages 15-29 looking for job opportunities with local businesses. This program provides them with life skills and hands-on employment experience. The goal of the program is to prepare young adults for the workforce by creating mentoring relationships and exposing them to the daily routines of paid employment. If they are assessed as suitable for the program, they will participate in a paid three-day employment preparation placement at Street Culture Project. During these three days, participants will obtain the required skills to confidently navigate through daily employment including general workplace expectations, applicable workplace training, etiquette and employment preparation.
