About this service
The purpose of the Mentorship program is to empower youth in our community by providing individual, group, and community-based mentoring, along with supportive guidance in developing independent living skills. Youth are paired with mentors based on compatibility, skills, abilities, gender, and personal interests in order to build an effective and trusting working relationship. Key areas include: Relationship building, hygiene awareness, money management, cooking, shopping, legal aid, public transportation, contract negotiation, healthy diet, healthy sexual behaviour, choices and accessing services. Individuals are referred to the Mentorship program through the Ministry of Social Services.
